 Favour Chibueze Izuogu was born on Tuesday, 3rd May 2005, in Nigeria. The 5' 10 (11st 9lbs) midfielder joined Mark Wilson's Thistle for a trial period in June, 2026, having most recently been with Columbus Crew 2. Aged 21, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 27th June, 2026, in a 0-0 friendly draw away to Pollok. There were no goals for Chibueze during his spell with Thistle. He played his second and last game for the club on Tuesday, 30th June, 2026, in an 8-0 friendly win at home to Kilbirnie Ladeside. At August, 2026, his club-list included Enyimba, Spartanii Sportul, Kun Khalifat, Columbus Crew 2 and Partick Thistle. |

 The 18-year-old Chibueze, a product of the Papilo Academy in Owerri, joined Enyimba (twice African Champions League winners) just after they'd won their 9th Nigerian title in 2023. He made his senior debut on the 15th October 2023 against Akwa United and scored his first senior goal for Enyimba in January 2024, subsequently running the full length of the pitch to celebrate his 30-yarder, overwhelmed with delight! Goals from long distance seem to be a bit of a speciality and he produced another on a big stage in March 2024, when his Beckham-esque free-kick equalised matters at 2-2 for Nigeria U-20s in their African Games match with Senegal U-20s. The Super Eagles had hopes of winning the tournament in Ghana, but they lost out 2-3 after a 65th minute penalty went against them. The attacking midfielder - who shares the same agency as Thistle's Cale Loughrey - spent season 2024-25 on loan with Spartanii Sportul in the Moldovan Liga, scoring once in 15 appearances. He played a handful of games back in the Nigerian Premier League in 2025-26 with Kun Khalifat before an exciting experience in the USA with Columbus Crew second team. Looking once more back to Europe, Chibueze was introduced to Mark Wilson's Partick Thistle for pre-season training in June 2026. Around 2,000 were at Newlandsfield Park for the friendly on 27th June, and the large contingent of Thistle fans in the crowd got their first look at the 21-year-old Nigerian when he came on for the second half of the game. It finished nil nil, but “wee Chee” (as he was quickly nicknamed!) gave a good account of himself with a lively performance and had a good attempt at scoring another of his goals from distance. “Worth a second look” was the general consenus but, ultimately, there was no deal for the youngster. |
