![]() Charlie West was born sometime between 16th November, 1946 and 15th November, 1947, and is most likely to be Scottish. * The defender signed for Willie Thornton's Thistle on Monday, 14th September, 1964, having most recently been with Clydebank Strollers. Aged 18 or 19, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 5th March, 1966, in a 1-1 draw at home to Stirling Albion in the SFL First Division. There were no goals for Charlie during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 20th April, 1968, in a 4-0 defeat at home to St Johnstone in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 17 occasions. Charlie's club-list included Partick Thistle and Chelmsford City.

![]() The youngster stepped up from the juveniles grade and eventually got his chance for Willie Thornton's Thistle, starting out as a right back, before switching to left back in 1968. Played in the 3-1 win at Chelmsford City in April, 1967, and perhaps they seen someting they liked, for he moved there 18 months later. Reportedly a 21-year-old at the time of transfer in November, 1968. |
