Bryan Purdie was born on Thursday, 1st January, 1959, in Bo'ness, Stirlingshire. The 6' 1 (11st 7lbs) defender signed for Billy Lamont's Thistle in December, 1987, having most recently been with Raith Rovers. Aged 28, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 19th December, 1987, in a 3-1 defeat at home to Dumbarton in the SFL First Division. Bryan scored his only goal for Thistle on Saturday, 17th September, 1988, in a 2-2 draw at home to Ayr United in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 1st October, 1988, in a 2-1 defeat away to St Johnstone in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 34 occasions. Bryan's club-list included Berwick Rangers, Fauldhouse United, Cowdenbeath, Alloa Athletic, Falkirk, Raith Rovers, Partick Thistle and East Stirlingshire. |
