Bobby Gilmour was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The 5' 10 (11st 10lbs) forward signed for David Meiklejohn's Thistle circa Saturday, 26th January, 1957, having most recently been with Stoneyburn. He made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 6th February, 1957, in a 2-2 draw (aet) at home to St Mirren in the Scottish Cup. Bobby scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 2nd March, 1957, in a 2-2 draw at home to Heart of Midlothian in the SFL First Division. He scored the last of his 8 goals on Saturday, 15th March, 1958, in a 4-1 defeat away to Airdrieonians in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 29th March, 1958, in a 3-1 win away to Queen of the South in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 15 occasions. Bobby's club-list included Stoneyburn, Partick Thistle, Stirling Albion, Airdrieonians and Bedford Town.
