Robert Gibb was born on Sunday, 5th February, 1922, in Bo'ness, Stirlingshire. The 5' 10½ (11st 10lbs) defender signed for Donald Turner's Thistle on Tuesday, 3rd September, 1946, having most recently been with Bo'ness United. Aged 26, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 29th January, 1949, in a 2-2 draw away to Rangers in the SFL First Division. Bobby scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 3rd September, 1949, in a 4-2 win at home to Dundee in the League Cup. He scored his second and final goal for the club on Saturday, 18th February, 1956, in a 3-1 win at home to Brechin City in the Scottish Cup. He played his last game for Thistle on Saturday, 23rd February, 1957, in a 5-1 defeat away to Dundee in the SFL First Division, having clocked up an impressive 282 appearances as a Jag. His club-list included Bo'ness United, Partick Thistle and East Stirlingshire. Bobby died in September, 2002, aged 80. *
