| Billy Gibson |
William Gibson was born on Saturday, 1st August, 1981, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. The 5' 10½ (11st 13lbs) midfielder temporarily transferred to Derek Whyte & Gerry Britton's Thistle in February, 2004, from his parent club, Rangers. Aged 22, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 7th February, 2004, in a 5-1 win at home to Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Cup. Billy scored his first goal for Thistle on Tuesday, 20th July, 2004, in a 3-2 friendly win away to Athlitiki Enosi Paphos. He scored the last of his 13 goals on Tuesday, 8th August, 2006, in a 3-1 win away to Dundee in the League Cup. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 28th April, 2007, in a 0-0 draw at home to Livingston in the SFL First Division, having clocked up 139 appearances as a Jag. Billy's club-list included Rangers, Partick Thistle, St Patrick's Athletic, Clyde, Ayr United, Alloa Athletic, Linlithgow Rose and Kilbirnie Ladeside. |
