William Donnachie Taylor was born on Friday, 3rd June, 1938, in Kirkconnel, Dumfries and Galloway. The goalkeeper signed for Willie Thornton's Thistle on Thursday, 9th March, 1967, having most recently been with Dunfermline Athletic. Aged 28, he made his debut appearance on Monday, 17th April, 1967, in a 3-1 friendly win away to Chelmsford City. There were no clean-sheets for Bill during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 26th August, 1967, in a 2-1 defeat away to Airdrieonians in the League Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 7 occasions. Bill's club-list included Cumnock Juniors, St Johnstone, Stirling Albion, Partick Thistle, Luton Town and Epping Town. |
