Ben Richards-Everton |
Ben Richards-Everton was born on Saturday, 17th October, 1992, in Birmingham. The 6' 2 (12st 13lbs) defender signed for Alan Archibald's Thistle on Friday, 22nd August, 2014 (after a trial period), having most recently been with Tamworth. Aged 21, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 6th August, 2014, in a 3-1 friendly win at home to Sunderland XI. There were no goals for Ben during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 23rd May, 2015, in a 0-0 draw away to Motherwell in the SPFL Premiership, having appeared as a Jag on 3 occasions. At September, 2024, Ben's club-list included Romulus, Cradley Town, Hinckley United, Tamworth, Partick Thistle, Airdrieonians, Dunfermline Athletic, Accrington Stanley, Bradford City, Barnet, Yeovil Town, Scunthorpe United, Gloucester City and Bromsgrove Sporting. |
This big central defender began his career with Carlisle United youths before senior spells with Romulus, Cradley Town and Hinckley United. He joined Tamworth of the Conference Premier in the springtime of 2013, and made 37 League appearances with them, but experienced relegation at the end of 2013-14. By now an England C internationalist, the 22-year-old impressed Alan Archibald as a trialist against Sunderland, and signed a one-year deal at Firhill shortly afterwards, with central defender Gabriel Piccolo simultaneously leaving by mutual consent. Almost immediately, Ben was loaned out to Airdrie, and had to wait seven months for his competitive debut at Thistle. In the end, Thistle fans seen virtually nothing of him, but he exited with a 100% clean-sheet record in his two competitive appearances for the Jags; a 1-0 win at home ICT (21st March 2015, 1 min game time) was followed by a 0-0 draw away to Motherwell (23rd May, 90 mins game time). His game time was significant with every club he played for after Thistle. |
