Archibald Donald Turner was born in 1910 in Hillhead, Glasgow. * The 5' 10 (11st 7lbs) forward signed for Donald Turner's Thistle in September, 1929, having recently played with Moorpark Amateurs. Aged 18 or 19, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 14th September, 1929, in a 2-0 win away to Cowdenbeath in the SFL First Division. That day, Archie became a member of our scoring debutant's club. He scored the last of his 6 goals on Saturday, 31st October, 1931, in a 2-0 win away to Ayr United in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 20th February, 1932, in a 2-0 defeat away to Queen's Park in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 27 occasions. His club-list included Moorpark Amateurs, Partick Thistle, Dumbarton and Kilmarnock. Archie died in 1990, in Ayr, South Ayrshire, aged 79 or 80. *
