Andrew Gerard Murdoch was born on Saturday, 20th July, 1968, in Greenock, Renfrewshire.

The 6' 1 (12st 0lbs) goalkeeper temporarily transferred to John Lambie's Thistle in January, 1989, from his parent club, Celtic.

Aged 20, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 21st January, 1989, in a 3-2 defeat away to Clydebank in the SFL First Division.

Andy kept his first clean-sheet on Saturday, 18th March, 1989, in a 1-0 win at home to Airdrieonians in the SFL First Division.

He registered the last of his 42 clean-sheets on Saturday, 18th September, 1993, in a 1-0 win at home to Motherwell in the SFL Premier Division.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 8th October, 1994, in a 1-0 defeat at home to Heart of Midlothian in the SFL Premier Division, having clocked up 116 appearances as a Jag.

Andy's club-list included Johnstone Burgh, Celtic, Partick Thistle and Hamilton Academical.
