Andrew Dunlop was born on Wednesday, 11th December, 1957, in Ayr, South Ayrshire.

The 6' 0 (11st 4lbs) defender signed for Peter Cormack's Thistle on Saturday, 29th August, 1981, having most recently been with St Mirren.

Aged 23, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 29th August, 1981, in a 1-0 defeat at home to Rangers in the SFL Premier Division.

Andy scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 13th February, 1982, in a 4-1 friendly win at home to Raith Rovers.

He scored the last of his 6 goals on Saturday, 18th February, 1984, in a 4-1 win at home to Meadowbank Thistle in the SFL First Division.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 12th May, 1984, in a 2-1 win away to Falkirk in the SFL First Division, having clocked up 109 appearances as a Jag.

Andy's club-list included St Mirren, Partick Thistle, Morton, Annbank United and Glenafton Athletic.

Bio Extra

Joined Thistle from St Mirren in 1981, signed by Peter Cormack. A regular in 81/82 in the Premier Division, Andy missed out on much of the following season through injury. Back in 83/84 he also found himself on the scoresheet for the first time for Thistle. Towering centre half who was good in the air, not so good on the ground.
