Andrew Anderson was born on Friday, 7th August, 1953, in Glasgow.

The 5' 11 (11st 8lbs) defender signed for Davie McParland's Thistle on Monday, 14th September, 1970, having most recently been with Sighthill Amateurs.

Aged 17, he made his debut appearance on Monday, 3rd May, 1971, in a 6-0 friendly win away to Ross County.

Andy scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 27th March, 1976, in a 2-1 defeat away to Meadowbank Thistle in the Spring Cup.

He scored the last of his 5 goals on Saturday, 10th March, 1979, in a 1-0 win away to Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 15th May, 1982, in a 2-1 defeat at home to Dundee United in the SFL Premier Division, having clocked up an impressive 287 appearances as a Jag.
