Bio Extra

This mystery man is thought to have been a midfielder and was possibly a youth team player. His only appearance was from the bench in a low-key Friday night friendly at Firhill, 3rd April 1998, arranged due to Thistle having a free weekend ahead. 450 watched Motherwell cruise to a 4-0 win. After a bright opening 20 minutes, a defensive blunder between Watson and Hamilton led to the first goal by Tommy Coyne. After that Thistle were seldom in the game and a second goal before h-t (Kevin Christie) and two more after the break (Shaun McSkimming & Owen Coyle) emphasised the gulf between the teams. Nothing was said of Alexander's performance in the programme report, other than he came on to replace Chic Charnley.
