Alexander Clifford O'Hara was born on Sunday, 21st October, 1956, in Glasgow.

The 5' 10 (10st 6lbs) midfielder signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Friday, 14th October, 1977, having most recently been with Rangers.

Aged 20, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 15th October, 1977, in a 2-1 win at home to Dundee United in the SFL Premier Division.

Alex scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 22nd October, 1977, in a 2-1 win away to Ayr United in the SFL Premier Division.

He scored the last of his 57 goals on Saturday, 12th May, 1984, in a 2-1 win away to Falkirk in the SFL First Division.

That turned out to be his last game for the club, having clocked up an impressive 290 appearances as a Jag.

Alex's club-list included Rangers, Partick Thistle, Morton and Hamilton Academical.

Bio Extra

Signed for Rangers in 1977, Alex was a regular for Thistle in all of the seven seasons he played at Firhill. Initially a forward, he dropped back to midfield later in his career. In competitive action played more than 250 games and scored over 50 goals, from 1977 until 1984. Won a Glasgow Cup medal in 1981. He later moved to Morton and then to Hamilton.
