Alexander Hamil Mackintosh was born on Monday, 11th May, 1953, in Dalserf, South Lanarkshire.

The defender appeared for Bertie Auld's Thistle in July, 1975, whilst a Rutherglen Glencairn player.

Aged 22, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 30th July, 1975, in a 4-0 friendly win away to Ross County.

There were no goals for Alex during his spell with Thistle.

He made his third and final appearance on Tuesday, 5th August, 1975, in a 1-1 friendly draw away to Clydebank.

Alex's club-list included Larkhall Thistle, Blantyre Victoria, Rutherglen Glencairn, Partick Thistle and Lesmahagow.

Bio Extra

This full back played with Larkhall Thistle in his teenage years, switching to Blantyre Vics in June 1972, just after his 19th birthday. Played in their nearly men team of 1974 which reached the semi-finals of the Junior Cup, were runners-up in the League and runners-up in the League Cup! Made the move to Rutherglen Glencairn in July 1975, but almost immediately fixed up a pre-season trial spell at Firhill. No permanent deal was immediately forthcoming though, and Alex continued at Glencairn for some months, before returning to sign a more permanent deal at Firhill in January, 1976. He never made it out of the reserves though, and stepped back to the junior grade, signing for Lesmahagow in the close season of 1977, where he played until the mid-1980s.
