 Alexander Burns was born on Saturday, 4th August, 1973, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. The 5' 7 (12st 0lbs) forward signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Friday, 1st February, 2002, having most recently been with St Mirren. Aged 28, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 2nd February, 2002, in a 1-1 draw at home to Airdrieonians in the SFL First Division. That day, Alex became a member of our scoring debutant's club. He scored the last of his 21 goals on Saturday, 24th May, 2003, in a 3-2 win away to Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League. That turned out to be his last game for the club, having appeared as a Jag on 60 occasions. Alex's club-list included Shotts Bon Accord, Motherwell, Heracles Almelo, Southend United, Raith Rovers, Livingston, St Mirren, Partick Thistle, Clyde, Brechin City, Stranraer and Petershill. |
