![]() Alan James Pirie was born on Saturday, 27th February, 1965, in Johnstone, Renfrewshire. The 5' 8 (11st 0lbs) defender signed for Billy Lamont's Thistle circa Saturday, 4th July, 1987, having most recently been with Kilbirnie Ladeside. Aged 22, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 25th July, 1987, in a 0-0 neutral-venue friendly draw against East Stirlingshire. There were no goals for Alan during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 7th May, 1988, in a 1-0 defeat at home to Kilmarnock in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 28 occasions. Alan's club-list included Neilston Juniors, Kilbirnie Ladeside, Partick Thistle and Auchinleck Talbot. |
![]() Young right-back/midfielder who was signed along with Hugh Lyden by Thistle after their club Kilbirnie Ladeside played in the Junior Cup Final. Alan had a tremendous appetite for the game and played with great determination, appearing fairly regularly for one season. At the end of the season he left to go junior once again, rejoining Lydon at Auchinleck Talbot. |
