Alan George McQueen was born on Sunday, 5th May, 1957, in Glasgow. The 5' 9 (10st 0lbs) defender signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Monday, 14th July, 1975, having most recently been with Sighthill Amateurs. Aged 18, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 13th March, 1976, in a 5-0 win at home to Meadowbank Thistle in the Spring Cup. There were no goals for Alan during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 17th April, 1976, in a 2-0 defeat away to East Fife in the Spring Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 3 occasions. Alan's club-list included Partick Thistle and Ross County. |
