| 1. Sat-04-Jul-2026 [a] W3-0 Oban Saints (D & K Lafferty Cup - game 1) |
– 11am, Mossfield Stadium. The 30th annual pre-season tournament hosted by Oban Saints AFC. Thistle back for a second appearance following on from last season. Two venues; Oban Sports Complex & Oban Lorne Rugby Club. A 6 team round-robin league, 11-a-side, 2 x 15 mins per game. MURRAY (pen), GRAY (2). 2026 tourney blog post at Winning In The Rain  |
| – Hosts Oban Saints and Partick Thistle kicked off the action on pitch 1 where the Jags laid down an early tournament marker with an impressive victory. After an even first half Thistle profited shortly after the break from a generously awarded penalty kick which was ruthlessly despatched by Kyle Murray. With the opening goal under their belts Thistle took control of the match with Daniel Gray adding a second knocking home at the back post after Craig Maitland had parried a crisp shot from the left edge of his eighteen-yard box. In the final minute of an eye-catching performance Gray added a third waltzing through the Saints' defence before slotting past Maitland. |

| – 12.30pm, Glencruitten Park. Home of Oban Lorne Rugby Club (a short walk from Mossfield Stadium). MACKAY. |
| – In a carbon copy from the result in last year's tournament a second consecutive clean sheet for Partick Thistle helped them overcome Dundee United with a solitary second-half Chrissy MacKay strike (mis-credited to Daniel Gray in the tourney blog) proving the difference. |
| 3. Sat-04-Jul-2026 [n] W2-0 Livingston (D & K Lafferty Cup - game 3) |
| – 2.00pm, Mossfield Stadium. GRAY (2). |
| – There was a symmetry about the 2pm encounter at Mossfield where three wins out of three for Partick Thistle made it three defeats out of three for Livingston who, despite playing well, just couldn't make the breakthrough they craved. |
| 4. Sat-04-Jul-2026 [n] W3-0 Kilmarnock (D & K Lafferty Cup - game 4) |
| – 2.45pm, Mossfield Stadium. Jags defeat the holders and win the tournament in some style with a game to spare. MACKAY, BELL, OG. |
| – In stark contrast to their goal-shy performance in last year's tournament, Partick Thistle continued their march to the top of the goalscoring charts with a resounding three-nil victory over cup holders Kilmarnock. Chris Mackay and Jack Bell were on target for the Jags before an unfortunate own goal from a Killie defender rounded off the scoring. Not content with the top goal scorer's title, Partick Thistle also had their eyes on the prize for the meanest defence and made it four consecutive clean sheets thanks in no small part to an excellent flying second half save from goalkeeper Lewis Sloan. |
| 5. Sat-04-Jul-2026 [n] D1-1 Queen's Park (D & K Lafferty Cup - game 5) |
| – 3.30pm, Glencruitten Park. GRAY. Thistle brought 22 boys (the U19s squad is now huge) so they alternated full teams across the five matches. They played really well and it was a good tournament/experience. 5-goal Daniel Gray wins the player-of-the-tournamet. Hopefully we'll be invited back next year to defend our trophy! |
| – Four wins from four had already confirmed Partick Thistle as champions but it remained to be seen if they could make it a perfect five with zero goals conceded. A.J. Doyle's opener for Queen's Park denied the Jags five clean sheets and, when Referee Donald McCallum pointed to the penalty spot it looked like Thistle would also fail to maintain their unbeaten run. Goalkeeper Oliver Fisher however had other ideas and produced an excellent flying save to his right to frustrate the Spiders. Fittingly it was Player of the Tournament Daniel Gray who had the last say cementing his place as top goal scorer with his fifth strike of the day to ensure the Jags finished undefeated. |

| – 7.00pm, Petershill Park. Sloan, Stanway, Low, Watson, Waddell, ALLAN, Murray, O’Brien, Gray, Miller, MacKay. Subs (all used): Fisher (GK), Nosa, Braid, THOMSON, McCormick, Paterson, Campbell. Pre-season continued for Gary Irvine's youngsters with a stern test in the form of Drumchapel United of the West of Scotland Premier League. |
| – There were some periods of the match where the age, experience and physicality of the visitors looked a real test for the young Jags, however they adapted well and a number of the more experienced U19s (and a good few of the younger ones too) didn't look out of place against a good quality senior team. Although the visitors took the lead 20 minutes in, it was 1-1 at half time after Lucas Allan drove an equaliser home at the back post from an excellent set-piece delivery from Harry Stanway. Using the full squad to rotate significantly in the second half, Thistle looked unsettled and disjointed and were potentially on their way to a 2-1 defeat when trialist Jack Thomson grabbed a cracking goal (cross/shot tbc!) from wide on the right with 5 mins to go. 2-2 final score was probably a fair result, although the visitors may disagree. |

| – 1.00pm, Valefield Park. 4-club tournament hosted by Kilbirnie Ladeside (who beat Dalry Thistle 4-0 in the other semi final). The young Jags playing at men's level again. NOSA, BRAID. |

| – 8-1 did not really flatter the young Jags in their opening league match of the 26/27 season, they looked comfortable throughout and had a 5-1 lead at half-time thanks to an OG and goals from Seb Fisher, Gabriel Nosa, Flynn O'Brien and a fumbled cross from Harry Stanway that escaped the keeper's grasp and rolled into the net. Into the second half and Gary Irvine used all subs to rotate the team as the game progressed and further goals from Nosa & Fisher were added to by Jack Bell to round off an 8-1 win. |
