| – Goals in 6, 27 and 41 minutes had Thistle beat early in this encounter behind close doors at the Rangers training centre. Future-Jag Juan Alegría grabbed the 2nd and 3rd, the latter being scored despite Stone saving the initial penalty. Thistle improved in the second half, but it was too big a mountain to climb. |

| – While there was a slow start to the game, Celtic started to take control and, just after the half-hour mark, they delivered a double blow to Thistle with 2 goals in a minute. Further goals in 48, 78 and 90 sealed an emphatic win, 2 coming from star man Dembele, as Celtic cruised into the semi finals. |
