| – Weakened by injuries, Thistle fielded 3 trialists including a keeper. Anderson headed home the opener but Motherwell had a good spell and were 3-1 up at half-time. A fightback was rewarded with 2 goals from trialist No 9 and it could have been more on chances near the end. |

| – A Weir cross from the right was helped on to Love who gave Thistle the lead from close in. Thistle were in control, looking good but a broken nose for McQueen signalled a reshuffle of the defence. It remained 1-0 until a lob deceived Rough leaving him stranded late on. |

| – Thistle were on the back foot from the start. Aberdeen took the lead with a header at a corner (17) then another header doubled the lead (28). Thistle were seen more in attack after half-time but with no result. A third goal (61) saw them well beaten. |

| – After an early spell of Queens pressure Thistle got into their stride. Goodall headed home a Weir cross and substitute Stevenson slipped the ball past the keeper. A needless pen gifted Queens a goal but Stevenson fired home for 3-1. |

| – Top v bottom was never a contest. Rangers had far too much firepower. Despite that it was McQuade who scored first from a short corner by McGrain. That only served to make Rangers more determined and by the half-hour they were 3-1 ahead. Two second half goals rubbed it in. |
