League Cup Table

2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. Teams finishing level on points were placed in order of superior goal difference, then by goals scored. Following a 2 season experiment, the League Cup of this season reverted back to the old formula last seen in 1971-72. Thistle were seeded in the top half of the group stage draw which pitted the top 16 from last season's top-flight against each other, thus ensuring that 4 'lesser' teams would qualify for the two-legged Quarter Finals. Tabulated by The Thistle Archive by triple corroboration, using the match results published at Wikipedia and London Hearts before verifying them against our own database. For the 9th time out of 29 (1946-47 to date) Thistle win their League Cup group, and progress to the Quarter Finals (QF).||
