ET 18/8/1962. Gray, Muir, Thomson, WRIGHT, Staite, Closs, Cowan, Williamson, Hainey, KERR (J), Gourlay. Remaining scorer as yet unsourced.
Motherwell caused problems down the left and they took the lead (4) with a header. Thistle equalised when the keeper looked to have a Wright shot covered but future-JAG Strachan deflected the ball in (22). Report only to h-t.
4. Mon-20-Aug-1962 [h] W5-1 Kilmarnock (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 21/8/1962. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.

ET 25/8/1962. Gray, Muir, Thomson, Wright (A), Staite, Wright (D), COWAN, McColl, Smith, Tinney, Gourlay.
Cowan went close and Tinney hit the post as Thistle made a brisk start. Gray had some fine saves too however but the best chance of the goalless first half fell to Smith who blasted well over with the goal at his mercy. Report only to h-t.
6. Wed-29-Aug-1962 [a] W7-1 Falkirk (Scottish Reserve League Cup section game)
GH 30/8/1962. Line-up as yet unsourced. KERR (J) (3), SMITH, WRIGHT (D), WRIGHT (A), THOMSON.
7. Sat-01-Sep-1962 [h] W2-1 Motherwell (Scottish Reserve League Cup section game)
ET 1/9/1962. Ramsay, Muir, Thomson, Wright (A), Staite, Wright (D), Cowan, Closs, McColl, KERR (J), Coyle. Remaining scorer as yet unsourced. Final Position: section winners with 100% record. An impressive F23/A6.
At first it was open, end to end play with Ramsay having some work to do and Thistle making chances. They finally got on top and Kerr gave them the lead. The Motherwell keeper kept the score at 1-0 by the break. Report only to h-t.
8. Sat-08-Sep-1962 [a] L1-3 Clyde (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 8/9/1962. Gray, Muir, Thomson, Wright (A), Staite, Closs, Cowan, Kerr, Hainey, Duffy, Coyle. Scorer as yet unsourced.
Duffy's good passes to Kerr and Hainey were wasted by them. Thistle gifted Clyde a penalty when Staite committed a foul in the box but Gray had a magnificent save to keep in goalless at the interval. Report only to h-t.
9. Fri-14-Sep-1962 [h] L1-4 Rangers (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 15/9/1962. GOURLAY. Line-up as yet unsourced.

11. Fri-21-Sep-1962 [a] W4-2 Heart of Midlothian (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 22/9/1962. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
12. Sat-29-Sep-1962 [h] W5-1 Motherwell (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 29/9/1962. Ramsay, Muir, Wright, Staite, McKinnon, Closs, WILLIAMSON, Newman, McBRIDE, McColl, Gourlay. Remaining scorers as yet unsourced.
Thistle were in control from the 2nd minute when Williamson lobbed the keeper from a McBride cross. The defence was too strong for Motherwell and it was no surprise when McBride finished off a long Gourlay pass then "newman" made it 3-0 at the interval. Report only to h-t.
13. Sat-06-Oct-1962 [a] W5-3 Dundee United (Scottish Reserve League)
MP 6/10/1962. Ramsay, Muir, Thomson, Staite, McKinnon, Closs, WILLIAMSON, KERR, McBRIDE, Tinney, Cowan.

17. Sat-27-Oct-1962 [a] W6-1 St Mirren (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 27/10/1962. Gray, Wright (D), Thomson, Wright (A), McKinnon, Staite, Cowan, Newman, McBride, McColl, Coyle. Scorers as yet unsourced.
18. Mon-29-Oct-1962 [h] L0-1 Celtic (Scottish Reserve League Cup Semi Final replay)
GH 30/10/1962. AET. Agg 5-6. Ramsay, Muir, Thomson, Ferguson, McKinnon, Staite, Cowan, Closs, McBride, Wright (A), Wright (D).
It was open and robust - too much so at times. Closs shot narrowly wide early on then Thistle survived two penalty claims. They got on top approaching half-time but the Celtic defence stood firm well into ET. A run from halfway and a shot from 12 yards (116) killed off Thistle's challenge.
19. Sat-03-Nov-1962 [h] W7-1 Queen of the South (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 3/11/1962. Gray, Muir, Wright (D), Closs, McKinnon, Staite, Cowan, NORMAN (2), WRIGHT (A), McCOLL, Coyle. Remaining scorers as yet unsourced.
Queens' good start faded quickly and Norman finished off a Cowan pass. Five minutes later Wright (A) tapped home a Coyle cross then Norman and McColl gave Thistle a commanding lead at h-t. Report only to h-t.
20. Sat-10-Nov-1962 [a] L1-3 Dundee (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 10/11/1962. Ramsay, Wright (D), Thomson, Ferguson, McKinnon, Staite, Williamson, Norman, Wright (A), McColl, Gourlay. Scorer as yet unsourced.
The first half was even with both clubs playing attractive football. The Dundee keeper stood up well to the "fierce shooting visiting forwards". After Gourlay had shot weakly past they paid the price when a penalty put Dundee ahead. Report only to h-t.
21. Fri-30-Nov-1962 [a] W1-0 Airdrieonians (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 1/12/1962 and SFHA. McCOLL. Line-up as yet unsourced. HA lists 2-0 with additional scorer, Norman.
22. Sat-08-Dec-1962 [h] D1-1 Hibernian (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 8/12/1962. Gray, Muir, Wright, FERGUSON, McKinnon, Closs, Kerr, Norman, McColl, Briggs, Fleming.
Both keepers were quiet, the defences in front of them mopping up any danger. Future manager Cormack put his side ahead (25) then his poor pass-back got his keeper in bother but Norman hit his shot wide. Report only to h-t.
23. Sat-15-Dec-1962 [h] W4-1 Aberdeen (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 15/10/1962. Gray, Wright (D), Kerr, Ferguson, Staite, Wright (A), WILLIAMSON, Norman, GOURLAY, Briggs, FLEMING (2).
It was a midfield struggle at first then Gourlay finished off good work by Briggs and Fleming (12). The Dons were unlucky when they hit the bar after Gray had been lobbed. Fleming doubled the lead (35). Report only to h-t.
24. Wed-19-Dec-1962 [h] D2-2 Clyde (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 20/12/1962. FERGUSON (pen), NORMAN. Line-up as yet unsourced.
25. Sat-29-Dec-1962 [a] D2-2 Kilmarnock (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 29/12/1962. Ramsay, Muir, Wright, FERGUSON, Staite, Closs, Williamson, NORMAN, Gourlay, McColl, Coyle.
Football was barely possible on the ice-bound pitch. The players struggled to keep on their feet. Kilmarnock missed a good chance as did McColl soon after. Ramsay had a good save near half-time. Report only to h-t.
26. Wed-02-Jan-1963 [a] L1-3 Rangers (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 3/1/1963. NORMAN. Line-up as yet unsourced.
27. Sat-12-Jan-1963 [a] D1-1 Third Lanark (Scottish Reserve League)
Abandoned half-time (fog). Result stood. Gray, Muir, Wright (D), FERGUSON (pen), Staite, Closs, Williamson, McColl, Gourlay, Norman, Kerr (J).
Fog was the problem rather than the frozen pitch. When a corner was only partially cleared Thirds volleyed past Gray. Norman went close to equalising but Ferguson did so from the spot three minutes from the break. There was no second half. The famous 1963 big freeze began.
28. Sat-02-Mar-1963 [h] L0-1 St Mirren (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 4/3/1963. Gray, Muir, Wright, Ferguson, McKinnon, Closs, Williamson, McColl, Gourlay, Briggs, Kerr (J).
29. Wed-13-Mar-1963 [h] W6-2 Raith Rovers (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 14/3/1963. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
30. Sat-23-Mar-1963 [a] L1-3 Raith Rovers (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 23/3/1963. Ramsay, Staite, Wright (D), Wright (A), Ferguson, Pinney, McColl, Norman, Briggs, FLEMING, Williamson.
Rovers had lots of pressure and were unlucky when they hit the bar but overall their shooting was wayward. McColl crossed and Fleming gave Thistle a half-time lead from close in (39). Report only to h-t.
31. Fri-29-Mar-1963 [a] L3-7 Celtic (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 30/3/1963. McCOLL (2), LOGAN. Line-up as yet unsourced.

GH 7/5/1963. WILLIAMSON, McCOLL. Line-up as yet unsourced.
42. Sat-11-May-1963 [h] D2-2 Dunfermline Athletic (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 11/5/1963. Ramsay, Wright, Tinney, Gibb, Harvey, Closs, Newman, McColl, HAINEY, Gourlay, Newman. Remaining scorer as yet unsourced.
An impressive start by Dunfermline saw them on top and they took the lead (5). McColl lobbed the keeper but a defender cleared off the line. Thistle got their game going and a vicious shot by Hainey levelled things. Report only to h-t.
43. Sat-18-May-1963 [h] D1-1 Dundee United (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 18/5/1963. Ramsay, Wright, Tinney, Ferguson, Harvey, Gibb, Newman, McColl, HAINEY, Closs, Gourlay.
McColl was unlucky when a marginal off-side decision cancelled out his early strike. There were chances going for both teams but the keepers were equal to them in a goalless first half. Report only to h-t.
44. Tue-21-May-1963 [h] D2-2 Dundee (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 22/5/1963. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
