– Airdrie should have been out of sight by h-t, given the chances they missed. A header gave them the lead but Thistle hit them with 2 quick goals they scarcely deserved on play. The equaliser came when Renucci fumbled a high cross the ball squirmed into the net. |

– Thistle took the lead through Gilmour (a simple finish, 4) then Thomson's 25-yard looping shot deceived everyone and went in off the post (18). Motherwell made it 2-1 by h-t. Gilmour completed his hat-trick from close range. The homesters were poor on the day. |
