ET 7/9/1957. Renucci, McGill, Thomson (R), Harvey, Brodie, Brown, Smith, Anderson, Gilmour, WILSON, Thomson (L).
Thirds had the early play but their finishing was poor. Poor marking at the back allowed a smartly taken goal by Thomson. Thirds hit back and on 15 minutes they equalised with a penalty and scored the winner just before half-time. Report only to half-time.

Right-Half Harvey was prominent and gave Thistle the lead (16). On the half-hour he rattled the St Mirren bar with a thunderous shot from 25 yards. Report only to half-time.
14. Sat-26-Oct-1957 [h] L3-4 Aberdeen (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 26/10/1957. Renucci, Brodie, Thomson (R), Harvey, Crawford, Hogan, Anderson, Smith, Gilmour, THOMSON (L), Keenan. Remaining scorers as yet unsourced.

ET 9/11/1957. Thomson, Collins, Thomson (R), Hogan, Brodie, Donlevy, Thomson (L), McIntosh, Gilmour, Wilson, Keenan.
The only goal came when Thomson misjudged a cross and the ball was headed in (11). Brodie went off injured for 10 minutes and returned to play at outside-right. Report only to half-time.
17. Sat-16-Nov-1957 [h] D1-1 Dundee (Scottish Reserve League)
SP 17/11/1957. HOGAN. Line-up as yet unsourced.
Dundee scarcely deserved the point. Thistle were by far the better team as Dundee sat in defending in depth, showing little appetite for coming out to play. A rare attack resulted in a headed goal but Hogan equalised (44). The Dundee keeper had an excellent 2nd half.
18. Sat-23-Nov-1957 [a] D2-2 Airdrieonians (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 23/11 & Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser 30/11/1957. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
Airdrie should have been out of sight by half-time, given the chances they missed. A header gave them the lead but Thistle hit them with 2 quick goals they scarcely deserved on play. The equaliser came when Renucci fumbled a high cross the ball squirmed into the net.
19. Sat-30-Nov-1957 [h] W2-1 Kilmarnock (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 30/11/1957. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
20. Sat-07-Dec-1957 [a] W6-1 Queen of the South (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 7/12/1957. Thomson, McGill, Thomson (R), Henderson, Crawford, Brown, Mallon, GILMOUR, McKENZIE, BELL (3), ANDERSON.
Gilmour almost scored in the first minute but a fine save on the goal-line denied him. MacKenzie's well-placed shot (25) put Thistle 1-up but a 40-yard free-kick levelled things. Report only to half-time.
21. Sat-14-Dec-1957 [a] W4-3 Raith Rovers (Scottish Reserve League)
FA 21/12/1957. Thomson, McGill, Thomson (R), Henderson, Crawford, BROWN, Mallon, GILMOUR (2), McKenzie, BELL, Anderson.
Brown gave Thistle the lead (15) then Thomson failed to hold a shot and the rebound was prodded in (17). Gilmour made it 2-1 before half-time and nutmegged the keeper for 3-1. A 20-yarder beat Ledgerwood all ends up for 3-2 . It was 3-3 on 63 mins but Bell scored from close in.
22. Sat-21-Dec-1957 [h] L0-3 Celtic (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 21/12/1957. Renucci, McGill, Thomson (R), Crawford, Newman, Hogan, Mallon, Gilmour, McKenzie, Henderson, Thomson (L).
Two goals by future-JAG Conway (10 and 40) established a comfortable lead for Celtic who more or less dominated the first half. Report only to half-time.
23. Sat-28-Dec-1957 [a] D1-1 East Fife (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 28/12/1957. Line-up and scorer as yet unsourced.

ET 4/1/1958. Renucci, Muir, Thomson (R), Brown, Wilson (W), Wilson (I), Bell, McIntyre, Mallon, Gilmour, Thomson (L). Scorer as yet unsourced.
Queens gave a wearisome display and the Thistle attack dithered and miskicked their chances. An attempt by Mallon was well saved and that was as close either team got by half-time. Report only to half-time.
26. Sat-11-Jan-1958 [h] L1-4 Heart of Midlothian (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 11/1/1958. Renucci, McGill, Thomson (R), Henderson, Brodie, Brown, McKenzie, Bell, GILMOUR, Wilson, Keenan.
A simple header beat Renucci (15) but Gilmour equalised soon after. Two quick goals just before half-time put Hearts in a commanding position. Report only to half-time.
27. Sat-18-Jan-1958 [a] W4-1 Motherwell (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 18/1/ & MT 24/1/1958. Ledgerwood, Brodie, Thomson (R), THOMSON (L), Hogan, Brown, McGill, Bell, GILMOUR (3), Wilson, Keenan. Gilmour's 2nd goal not reported.
Thistle took the lead through Gilmour (a simple finish, 4) then Thomson's 25-yard looping shot deceived everyone and went in off the post (18). Motherwell made it 2-1 by half-time. Gilmour completed his hat-trick from close range. The homesters were poor on the day.
28. Sat-01-Feb-1958 [a] L1-2 Aberdeen (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 1/2/1958. Ledgerwood, Hogan, Thomson (R), Thomson (L), Crawford, Brown, McKenzie, Bell, GILMOUR, Wilson, Keenan.
Gilmour headed Thistle into the lead (33) but Aberdeen hit back strongly. Ledgerwood saved a shot on the line and another with his foot then he was saved by the woodwork at a corner. Report only to half-time.
29. Sat-15-Feb-1958 [h] W2-1 Queen's Park (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 15/2/1958. Ledgerwood, McGill, Brown, Thomson(L), Crawford, Hogan, Mallon, Anderson, Gilmour, Wilson, Keenan. Scorers as yet unsourced.
Ledgerwood was a busy keeper as Queens displayed some nippy forward play. Thistle hit back and Hogan set up Gilmour but he wasted the chance to go ahead. Queens scored when a free-kick caught Ledgerwood off-guard. Report only to half-time.
30. Sat-22-Feb-1958 [h] W3-0 Third Lanark (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 22/2/1958. Thomson, Hogan, Brown, Harvey Newman, HENDERSON, McGill, Anderson, Mallon, Wilson, Keenan. Remaining scorers as yet unsourced.
It was end to end stuff but neither team had their shooting boots on. Thomson's first save was on the half-hour. Finally the duck was broken when Henderson's 30-yard drive made it 1-0. Report only to half-time.
31. Tue-25-Feb-1958 [a] D1-1 Rangers (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 26/2/1958. Line-up and scorer as yet unsourced.

ET 15/3/1958. Renucci, Collins, Thomson (R), Harvey, Hogan, Brown, Newman, Bell, KERR, Henderson, Keenan.
A huge clearance by Brown had the Airdrie defence in bother and all Kerr had to do was tap the ball in (27). After that the teams traded close things until half-time. Report only to half-time.
34. Wed-19-Mar-1958 [h] W5-3 St Mirren (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 20/3/1958. KEENAN (2), WILSON, FLEMING, BELL. Line-up as yet unsourced.
35. Sat-22-Mar-1958 [a] L0-1 Kilmarnock (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 22/3/1958. Thomson, Brodie, Thomson (R), Harvey, Collins, Henderson, McGill, Thomson (L), Mallon, Wilson, Anderson.
For all that Kilmarnock had the bulk of the play, Thistle's forwards looked the more dangerous from fewer chances. Either way, it was goalless at half-time. Report only to half-time.
36. Sat-05-Apr-1958 [h] L1-2 Raith Rovers (Scottish Reserve League)
FA 12/4/1958. Renucci, DAVIDSON (pen), Brodie, Harvey, Crawford, Brown, Mallon, Henderson, Gilmour, Hastings, McGill.
Rovers were good value for their 1-goal lead then Davidson converted a penalty for handball. Despite Thistle fielding several 1st XI players Rovers had that bit more to offer and deservedly took the lead (also from the spot) when Crawford pulled down Rovers' No 9 late on.
37. Sat-12-Apr-1958 [a] L1-3 Celtic (Scottish Reserve League)
ET 12/4/1958. Thomson, Hollands, Brodie, Harvey, Kennedy, Brown, Mallon, Wright, Gilmour, WILSON, McGill.
Celtic forced the pace from the start and there were few chances made by Thistle. Future manager Auld scored the only goal of the first half (10). Thomson had some good saves. Report only to half-time.
38. Fri-18-Apr-1958 [h] W3-1 Queen of the South (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 19/4/1958. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.

ET 26/4/1958.Thomson, Brodie, Brown, Harvey, Davidson, Thomson (L), Anderson, Bell, MALLON (2), Henderson, McGill.
Mallon finished off a pass by Henderson to put Thistle 1-up. These two combined well and were unlucky on occasions not to increase the lead. At the other end the Fifers got no joy out of a stout Thistle defence. Report only to half-time.
40. Mon-28-Apr-1958 [h] W4-1 Falkirk (Scottish Reserve League)
GH 29/4/1958. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
