| – Queen's did most of the attacking, Thistle the defending. A rare effort by Crawford was well saved then after spurning a couple of good chances Queens went ahead (21). A header doubled the lead 6 mins later. Report only to h-t. |

| – Hard, fast and entertaining. Motherwell had the best of the first half, Thistle the second. Two goals (14 and 19) set Thistle back. "Newman" had an effort kicked off the line but he scored (65). Motherwell missed a penalty late on. |

| – McParland gave Thistle an early lead then Wilson made it 2-0 (24). Brown's penalty was saved a few minutes later. Airdrie had decent spells but throughout the game were unable to beat Thistle's off-side trap. They scored late on for 4-1. |
