| – Play was even for the first half-hour but Motherwell began to get on top. Bell had a marvellous save then a penalty for a foul by Collins was tucked away (37). A header (44) made it 2-0 then it was 3-0 soon after half-time. Miller scored late on in a breakaway. |

| – The score at half-time (3-0) didn't flatter the Rose. Thistle players didn't seem to be taking it too seriously. Smith scored twice after half-time but this Friday night friendly in support of Rose's floodlight fund was all about the locals' win. |
