– GH 15/8/1949. Line-up and scorer as yet unsourced. |
2. Sat-20-Aug-1949 [h] D3-3 Queen's Park (SFL Division C South-West) |

– CE 31/8/1949. Henderson, Husband, Pirrie, Thomson, Forsyth, McCredie, Wright, McCallum, Richards, Crawford, Braidwood. Scorer not identified. |
– Rovers (with two trialists in their side) put up a brave fight against a much stronger Thistle side. They almost took the lead before half-time. Their defence was sound but the Thistle forwards dillied and dallied too much and they were fortunate to grab a 2nd half winner. |
4. Sat-03-Sep-1949 [a] W5-4 Queen of the South (SFL Division C South-West) |
– SM 4/9/1949. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced. |

– MT 23/9/1949. McArthur, Haddow, Pirrie, Thomson, Collins, Brown, Wright, Wilson, Peat, Crawford, Harper. |
– Thistle had some good individual performances but lacked a senior player to hold things together. Motherwell were more experienced and goals 16, 22 and 44 gave them a commanding lead and the fourth came mid-way through the 2nd half. |
7. Sat-01-Oct-1949 [a] W3-0 Albion Rovers (Scottish 2nd XI Cup 1st Round) |
– CE 5/10/1949. Henderson, Kinnell, Haddow, Thomson, Collins, Wilson, McCallum, Brown, PEAT, WRIGHT (2), Braidwood. |
– Wright headed in the opener (14) and in 31 minutes a high cross by Thomson deceived the keeper and he found the empty net. Henderson pushed away a penalty, saving the rebound (50). Peat got the third, shooting through the keeper's legs. |

– CE 2/11/1949. McArthur, Forsyth, McCREDIE, Brown, Collins, Haddow, Hepburn, Crawford, PEAT, HARPER, Braidwood. |
– A strong drive by Peat (25) put Thistle ahead. Airdrie equalised but Harper scored within a minute. McCredie scored from the spot (hand-ball) and Airdrie got their second near the end. They rued a load of missed chances. Lucky Thistle. |

– FH 17/12/1949. McArthur, Forsyth, McCredie, Hepburn, Collins, Crawford, "Chalmers", McCallum, PEAT (2), WRIGHT, Harper. |
– Wright scored with Thistle's first attack but it was soon level. Peat scored (23) but, again, it was level (33) then Falkirk went ahead on half-time. Peat levelled soon after the restart. Things were even until a soft pen produced the winner. |

– APJ 16/2/1950. PEAT. Line-up as yet unsourced. Line-up also included Forsyth, Ledgerwood and MacKenzie. |
– Aberdeen had a lot of the play but missed several good chances. Their keeper had a poor game and when he dropped a pass-back Peat was on hand to score easily (43). Thistle hit the bar twice. |
25. Sat-18-Feb-1950 [a] W3-1 Albion Rovers (SFL Division C South-West) |
– CE 22/2/1950. Ledgerwood, Collins, McCredie, Haddow, Barclay, Mathers, MacKenzie, WRIGHT (2), O'Donnell, Harper, PEAT. |
– It was even on play and chances, the difference being Thistle took theirs. Goals by Peat (5) and Wright (17) put Thistle well ahead. Rovers scored (47) then wasted umpteen chances including an open goal before Wright gave the keeper no chance (80). |
26. Sat-25-Feb-1950 [h] W2-1 Hamilton Academical (SFL Division C South-West) |
– |
27. Wed-08-Mar-1950 [h] D0-0 Dundee (Scottish 2nd XI Cup Semi Final) |
– DC 9/3/1950. Ledgerwood, Collins, McCredie, Crawford, Forsyth, Mathers, MacKenzie, Wilson, Peat, Wright, Harper. |
– 4,000 saw ex-JAG Steadward play a blinder in goal. He had a string of excellent saves. Ledgerwood was also in good form and both sets of forwards found it tough going. |
28. Sat-11-Mar-1950 [a] L3-4 Montrose (Friendly) |
– MR 17/3/1950. Ledgerwood, Hepburn, McCredie, Thomson, Crawford, MATHERS, McKnight, Martin, Fraser, WRIGHT (2), O'Donnell. |
– “A full-blooded friendly”. Mathers scored (5) but Thistle were surprised by the quality of the locals and went 2-1 down in short order before Wright equalised and scored again (38). A minute later it was 3-3. Thistle edged the 2nd half but it was Montrose who got the winner (69). |
29. Sat-18-Mar-1950 [a] L1-3 Dundee (Scottish 2nd XI Cup Semi Final replay) |
– SP 19/3 and DC 20/3/1950. Ledgerwood, McGowan, Collins, Haddow, Forsyth, Mathers, Brown, Crawford, O'Donnell, WRIGHT, Harper. |
– Both teams included first-team players. Ledgerwood injured a hand (40) and played on the wing in the 2nd half (Brown in goal). Thistle had a fair share of the play but Dundee had the better forwards and had too much to offer up front. Thistle conceded 10, 51 and 80 and Wright scored 87. |
