| – Motherwell deserved their half-time lead but they fell out of the game against the wind in the 2nd half. Their keeper kept Thistle out with three excellent saves but O'Donnell scored on the hour and McGeachy scored the winner (75). |

| – On a glue-pot surface Falkirk took the lead (16) and were never in trouble after that. It was 2-0 (39) and 3-0 (42). In the second half a fourth goal then a penalty (hat-trick for their No 9) rounded off a miserable day. |
