DC 18/8/1937. Henderson, Stevenson, Stewart, Baigrie, Galt, McLeod, Alston, Abbie, WATSON, Douglas, Smith.
A remarkable crowd of 18,000 saw a pulsating game with chances at both ends and excellent goalkeeping. Stewart fired a clearance up field and Wallace ran up the park to score (80) but Celtic earned a point from a goalmouth scramble (85).
3. Sat-21-Aug-1937 [a] L3-5 Kilmarnock (Scottish Alliance)
KH 27/8/1937. Henderson, Stevenson, McDonald, Swann, Gault, Baigrie, ALSTON (2), Abbie, Watson, McCrindle, SMITH.
In driving rain Thistle fell behind in 5 mins and a second followed. Smith scored a smartly taken goal but Killie converted a pen then Alston scored. He did so again just after half-time for 3-3 but a shot off the post and a late penalty secured the points.
4. Wed-25-Aug-1937 [a] D1-1 Hamilton Academical (Scottish Alliance)

5. Sat-28-Aug-1937 [h] W3-1 Aberdeen (Scottish Alliance)
APJ 30/8/1937. WATSON, DOUGLAS, McCRINDLE. Line-up as yet unsourced.
Unbeaten Aberdeen had a fair share of the play and Kelly had some good saves. Thistle edged ahead just on half-time through a header by Watson. Goals by Douglas and McCrindle put them comfortably ahead although Aberdeen reduced the lead.
6. Fri-03-Sep-1937 [a] L1-4 Beith (Scottish Alliance)

5,000 saw Thistle in impressive form - especially in the first half when Alston and Abbie gave them a 2-goal lead. After half-time Rangers set about retrieving the situation and levelled then a mistake by Galt (who had ample time to clear) led to the winner (90).

DC 21/10/1937. Henderson, "Newman", Curran, Swann, Galt, Douglas, Alston, McCrindle, Wallace, McMenemy, "NEWMAN". "NEWMAN" was George Loudon (Airdrie Juniors).
3rd v 2nd. Rangers missed their chances whereas Thistle took one. "N" at No 11 beat three men to give the keeper no chance (56). The Thistle defence was pounded until the end but Henderson had some magnificent saves and the points went to Firhill.
16. Sat-23-Oct-1937 [h] W4-1 Dundee (Scottish Alliance)
DC 25/10/1937. Henderson, Stevenson, Curran, Swann, Galt, Douglas, Alston, McCrindle, WALLACE (4), McMenemy, Linton.
It was a personal triumph for Wallace who scored all 4 goals. Both keepers saved a penalty in the 2nd half. Dundee were certainly below par and their goal game from a mistake by Galt who miskicked.
17. Sat-30-Oct-1937 [a] L4-5 Falkirk (Scottish Alliance)
FH 6/11/1937. Henderson, Stevenson, Curran. Swann, Galt, DOUGLAS, Abbie, McCrindle, WALLACE, McMENEMY, LINTON.
McMenemy and Linton put Thistle 2-up in 7 minutes but by half-time it was 2-2 (one pen). Wallace scored but Falkirk levelled. They went ahead, Douglas levelled then a pen was converted (87) to edge Thistle out of a entertaining match.

APJ 27/12/1937. Henderson, Stevenson, Chisholm, Swan, Busby, Baigrie, Linton, Abbie, WATSON, McCrindle, SMITH.
Watson scored against the run of play when the Dons keeper fumbled (18). It was all Aberdeen until half-time. Smith headed home for 2-0 (50) then Henderson parried a shot and it was fired home. A last-minute header was the least Aberdeen deserved.
23. Sat-01-Jan-1938 [h] L3-5 Hibernian (Scottish Alliance)
SC 3/1/1938. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
24. Sat-08-Jan-1938 [h] W5-2 Beith (Scottish Alliance)

Thistle started well enough but fell away badly and trailed 1-0 at half-time. A 30-yard free-kick (70) put the points safe although Smith scored near the end. It was a comfortable win.

GH 31/1/1938. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.

PRA 16/2/1938. Henderson, Stevenson, Calderwood, Swann, Galt, Douglas, Watson, Abbie, Chisholm, McCRINDLE, LINTON.
Strangely both teams played better against the wind. Behind in 2 mins, Linton equalised (30) then McCrindle gave Thistle the lead on the break just after half-time. Saints drew level and a pen won them both points. Probably fair on the balance of play.
30. Sat-19-Feb-1938 [a] L1-3 Motherwell (Scottish Alliance)
MT 25/2/1938. Henderson, Calderwood, McKay, Swann, Gale, McLeod, Wilson, McCrindle, Chisholm, Duncan, SMITH.
Thistle started well and after Chisholm had fired straight at the keeper Smith put them ahead (15). It was level 3 mins later however. It was even for some time then Motherwell pressure increased. A header put them ahead then came a late third.
31. Sat-26-Feb-1938 [h] W2-1 Falkirk (Scottish Alliance)
FH 2/3/1938. Henderson, Calderwood, Stark, Swan, Gault, McLeod, BROWN, Abbie, Wilson, McCRINDLE, Smith.
Falkirk regretted missing the chances they made in a tight game. Brown hit the post - the ball scrambled clear. Falkirk hit the post - the ball tucked away. Brown levelled with an unsavable shot them McCrindle shot home off a post.

SM 6/2/1938. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
33. Tue-15-Mar-1938 [h] D2-2 Third Lanark (Scottish Alliance)
GH 16/3/1938. ABBIE, McMILLAN. Line-up as yet unsourced.
34. Sat-19-Mar-1938 [h] W2-1 Dundee (Scottish 2nd XI Cup Quarter Final)
DC 21/3/1938. Henderson, Stevenson, Curran, Swann, Busby, McLeod, ALSTON, McCrindle, ABBIE, Douglas, Picken. Second round Bye.
With 20 mins to go Thistle were winning 2-1 thanks to goals by Alston then Abbie (a defender's mistake). A Dundee forward inside the box was about to shoot when the ref stopped the play for an injured player. Unlucky Dundee felt hard done to.
35. Sat-26-Mar-1938 [a] L2-5 Dundee (Scottish Alliance)
DC 28/3/1938. Henderson, Stevenson, Sutherland, Linton, Wilson, Busby, Abbie, WALKER, Rice, McCRINDLE, Smith.
A quiet first half saw Dundee lead 1-0 at half-time but the second half was a goal feast. McCrindle and Walker scored but goals came easily to Dundee including a hat-trick for their inside-left.
36. Tue-29-Mar-1938 [h] L1-3 Clyde (Scottish 2nd XI Cup Semi Final)
GH 30/3/1937. Henderson, Stevenson, Stewart, Swann, Busby, McLeod, Alston, McCrindle, ABBIE, Douglas, Picken.
4,000 saw Thistle dominate this match for almost an hour - although it was Accies who took the lead (32) before Abbie levelled just on half-time. They found the Accies defence too much to overcome and two goals just after half-time and near the end settled the tie.
37. Sat-09-Apr-1938 [h] L1-2 Ayr United (Scottish Alliance)
GH 11/4/1938. Line-up and scorer as yet unsourced.

DR 27/4/1938. Henderson, Sutherland, Smith, Swan, Wilson, Busby, Alston, Walker, McGREGOR (2), McCrindle, Duncan.
Several debutants for Thistle including Duncan (Buckie Thistle) and McGregor who scored twice, the first from an acute angle within a minute, the second from well out (55). Young schoolboy Bell of Queen's Park equalised twice (18, 90). A draw was fair.
41. Fri-29-Apr-1938 [a] L0-2 Celtic (Scottish Alliance)
SFHA. No trace of this match/result found but final published table confirms the final position 6th of 20, 43/76 pts.
