– After some early St Mirren pressure Thistle broke away and Drummond latched on to a long clearance, crossed and it was tucked away. The second half was full of “stiff and close play” and St Mirren emerged the winners. |

– Such was the display of the Rovers - and in particular their player Marshall - Thistle officials took a note of his address at the end of the match. |

– Thistle “a weightier and more resolute team” surprised Queens with an early goal. Despite poor finishing they equalised but two goals (a free-kick then a ball fisted in and missed by the ref) put Thistle 3-1 up. Both teams scored once after half-time. |
