– Various 10 & 12/8/1895. Smith, Ferguson, Morrison, Bryce, Gray, Stewart (T Lanark), Stirling (Leicester Fosse), Proudfoot, Paterson (Thornliebank), Wilkie, Campbell. Scorers as yet unsourced. |
– Thistle made a good start but league champions Hearts rushed to a 4-goal lead before it was reduced before half-time. After sustained pressure a 2nd goal was finally scored but it finished with one more goal apiece. |

– Thistle enjoyed a brief spell of supremacy then the roof fell in. It was 4-0 at half-time. Just as well the Govan team had 5 first-team regulars missing! |

– SR 27/3/1896. Line-up as yet unsourced. Date played not confirmed in report (Friday edition). Assumed to be 21/3. |
– Thistle has most of the play in the first half but drew a blank. Roles were reversed after half-time the difference being Barrhead found the net three times. |
8. Sat-18-Apr-1896 [a] L3-7 Benburb (Friendly) |
– SR 20/4/1896. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced. |
– The Junior team led 3-1 at half-time, Thistle's goal described as “lucky.” Thistle competed more after half-time but they still lost goals with regularity. At 6-1 Benburb “tried some gallery work” (Victorian showboating?) and conceded twice only to score again. |
