| – The game was 30 minutes late in starting and the visitors retired one goal to the good after a first half that was largely played in torrential rain. The second half was evenly contested as the players braved the conditions, but QP got the breaks and added two further goals. “Campbell at the back was in fine fettle for Thistle, while Samson, strange to say, was quite out of it.” |

| – Thistle has most of the play in the first half but drew a blank. Roles were reversed after half-time the difference being Barrhead found the net three times. |

| – The Junior team led 3-1 at half-time, Thistle's goal described as “lucky.” Thistle competed more after half-time but they still lost goals with regularity. At 6-1 Benburb “tried some gallery work” (Victorian showboating?) and conceded twice only to score again. |
