3. Sat-29-Aug-1891 [h] W4-0 Partick Virginia (Friendly)
– GH 31/8/1891. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
4. Sat-12-Sep-1891 [a] L2-3 Smithston Hibernian (Scottish 2nd XI Cup 1st Round)
– GH 14/9/1891. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
5. Sat-26-Sep-1891 [a] L1-4 Glasgow Thistle (Friendly)
– SR 28/9/1891. Line-up (predicted) per GEP 25/9/1891: Duff, Freebairn, Rodger, Hill, Anderson, McMillan, Murray, Martin, Proudfoot, Bennett, Moffat. Scorer as yet unsourced.
– Partick Thistle could raise only ten men for this game which goes some way to explaining why they were 4 nil down by half-time. A change of ends seemed to inpsire renewed vigour and in the end Thistle were a little unlucky to ultimately lose by a 3 goal margin.
6. Sat-17-Oct-1891 [h] D3-3 Airdrieonians (Friendly)
– CE 21/10/1891. Duff, Smith, Anderson, WOOD, McMillan, Hill, McQuaker, Gallacher, Miller, Burnett, Fleming. Remaining scorer as yet unsourced.
– Wood gave the Swifts the lead with a header. 5 goals were scored in the second half but there is no information on the scoring sequence.
7. Sat-31-Oct-1891 [h] W4-1 Linthouse (Friendly)
– SR 2/11/1891. FLEMING (2), PROUDFOOT. Line-up and remaining scorer as yet unsourced.
– After a shaky start Thistle settled and Fleming scored then a combined move made it 2-0 at half-time. Linthouse applied the pressure after half-time and scored but Fleming got his second. Linthouse enjoyed no luck in attack and Proudfoot notched a fourth goal.
8. Sat-07-Nov-1891 [a] W4-1 Clydebank (Friendly)
– LNH 14/11/1891. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
9. Sat-14-Nov-1891 [a] L1-2 Kilbarchan (Friendly)
– NBDM 16/11/1891. Line-up and scorer as yet unsourced.
– The Swifts were under pressure from the start and went one down (5) but against the run of play they levelled just before half-time. It was all Kilbarchan after the break and finally they got a winner their play deserved.
10. Sat-21-Nov-1891 [h] L1-4 Rangers (Friendly)
– SR 23/11/1881. Line-up and scorer as yet unsourced.
– Goals 5 and 15 put Rangers in command then a third before half-time made for an uphill task. It was 4-0 before Thistle managed any sustained pressure and Proudfoot scored. Rangers had too much to offer on the day.
11. Sat-05-Dec-1891 [a] D2-2 Port Glasgow Athletic (Friendly)
– HA. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced. Most likely the reverse of the 1st XI fixture on the same date.
12. Sat-12-Dec-1891 [h] D0-0 Northern (Friendly)
– GH 14/12/1891. Line-up as yet unsourced.
13. Sat-26-Dec-1891 [a] L2-3 Queen's Park (Friendly)
– GH 28/12/1891. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
– An excellent game, closely fought. It was busy at both ends at first then Queens took a 2-goal lead in quick time. Thistle reduced the lead before half-time. The second half was even in play and goals but Thistle couldn't find an equaliser.
14. Fri-01-Jan-1892 [a] D?-? Vale of Teith (Friendly)
– PCJ 6/1/1892. Line-up as yet unsourced.
15. Sat-02-Jan-1892 [a] L1-8 Dunblane (Friendly)
– PCJ 6/1/1892. Line-up and scorer as yet unsourced.
16. Sat-30-Jan-1892 [h] W7-1 Morton (Friendly)
– GH 1/2/1892. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
17. Sat-06-Feb-1892 [a] L2-3 Cambuslang (Glasgow 2nd XI Cup 1st Round)
– GEP (22/1/1892) carried a predicted line-up: Imrie, McMoreland, Willes, Hill, Freebairn, McKenzie, Murray, Martin, L. Proudfoot, Moffat, McKeown. Unfortunately, no result was listed in either the NBDM or SR (other Glasgow 2nd XI Cup ties are). We therefore presume the match was postponed. 2 weeks later, the GEP (5/2/1892) once again carried a predicted line-up: Imrie, McMorland, Willis, Freebairn, McKenzie, McKeown, Murray, Moffat, Proudfoot, Edgar, Martin.
18. Sat-27-Feb-1892 [h] W4-0 Glasgow Thistle (Friendly)
– SR 29/2/1892. ROBERTSON. Remaining scorers as yet unsourced. The GEP (26/2/1892) gave a predicted line-up: Imrie, D. Freebairn, J. Willis, J. McMoreland, J. McKenzie, J. Edgar, A. Moffat, J. Murray, W. Keay, J. Martin, J. McKewan. No sign of the quoted scorer, typical!
– The visitors had as much if not more of the ball than Thistle but dreadful finishing was their downfall. Thistle made the most of their chances and after Robertson opened for them the result was not in doubt. 2 x 35 mins were played. The visitors arrived late.
19. Sat-05-Mar-1892 [a] W6-0 Rangers (Friendly)
– GEP & SR 7/3/1892. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
– “A pleasant game at Govan.” “The Partick forwards were in great form, their passing and shooting being a feature of the game.”
20. Sat-12-Mar-1892 [a] W8-0 Northern (Friendly)
– SR 14/3/1892. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced. Thistle (predicted) per GEP 11/3/1892: Imrie, McMoreland, Willis, Freebairn, McKenzie, Edgar, Moffat, McKeown, Keay, Murray, Quigley.
21. Sat-19-Mar-1892 [h] W6-1 Airdrieonians (Friendly)
– ACA 26/3/1892. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
22. Sat-26-Mar-1892 [a] L1-7 Albion Rovers (Friendly)
– LUWE 2/4/1892. Thistle (predicted) per GEP: Imrie, J. McMoreland, J. Willis, D. Freebairn, J. McKenzie, J. Edgar, J. Watson, R. Murray, H. Keay, A. Moffat, J. McKeown. John McMoreland & Robert Murray appeared for the first team this day, so they can be ruled out of the final line-up. Scorer as yet unsourced.
23. Sat-09-Apr-1892 [h] W3-1 Linthouse (Friendly)
– GH 11/4/1892. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
24. Sat-16-Apr-1892 [h] D2-2 Jordanhill (Friendly)
– GH 18/4/1892. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
25. Sat-23-Apr-1892 [h] W2-0 King's Park (Friendly)
– FH 27/4/1892. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
26. Sat-30-Apr-1892 [h] W10-2 Battlefield (Friendly)
– GH 2/5/1892. Line-up and scorers as yet unsourced.
27. Mon-09-May-1892 [h] L1-5 Rangers (Friendly)
